The images on these pages have been collected from a wide variety of resources, mostly books and the internet. While nearly all of the photos are over 100 years old and thus long out of copyright, many are held by archives, institutions and persons who expect and deserve proper credit and may wish to control reproduction on other grounds. It is my intention to credit each image to its original source, when known; to its current holder, when known; and to its immediate source when relevant. I welcome any corrections and updates, and requests to limit or remove images from valid rights or property holders.
